Just taking a moment to look at the ftse charts.... Think this morning's dip did a lot of damage technically speaking.... I'm not comfortable going long here at any point above 6900/6850 to be honest unless it's for a quick scalp.  Good luck to those who do but for me, this week is all about looking down rather than up. I think that big dip Fri/last monday was a pre-cursor to a bigger correction.  One little crack in the Fed tomorrow will be exposed I think.

News shrugged off then. Looking at the lower time frames I think 15 min will now keep 5 min on the overbought side for an extended period. Showing signs of turning and supporting the longer time frames - namely 1hr which says more to run and a possible cross over on 4hr stoch. The latter wouldn't be surprising at all given the pin from 8-12AM.

struggling to get a trade right this week. Market does exactly the opposite of what i am trading, and im not even catching knives. Volatility really does throw out alot of traditional trading methods. Just going to have to sit in my positions, look to b/e and then try to recoup some losses in the comming days. 7000 is such a no mans land, its difficult to get right.

The Fed might like that Chris for inflation ie economy not over-heating...  Its quite a big miss but the market reaction is minor.   The next news is the at 3pm consumer confidence:- Todays forecast is 123.9 V's last month 127.3 (forecast 119). May 117.2 Vs forecast 119.2 and Apr 121.7 Vs forecast 113.

I have a suspicion this might tank in the next hour or so... Added some big shorts in the 580's on DAX so am feeling pretty chuffed.  FTSE short avg 7001 - will keep open and close at b/e.

key components like apple (60-148) twitter (20-60) pushing this.but is there anything fundamentally wrong here, since the components are regularly swapped out, and as Buffett proved, a 10 year investment in a passive s&p tracker will always, always, outperform a managed fund.
