chartist acquintance just telling me that if ftse gets back to 7180 overnight/tomorrow is (quite) significant, any on here with that slant like to comment on that? just for colour on the subject for all (as said b4, interesting but not my way of trading per se), thanks in advance

I'd say 7180 is key level but I think 7136 is the biggie right now. 209 is the support to break first though I think.

happy sht ftse here, slightly more so than some of my earlier shorts.....I get Richard and YP comments, and over time I am most certainly with them, trouble is, with lots of variant headlines still to come (rapid infections, deaths, deaths in different age groups, vax uncertainty bla bla bla), my question re ftse move today would be, why now???!!

as an aside, just spent a nice hour with dublin doctor who came to canaries to complete marathon even tho official one was cancelled again, he says that vast majority of medical professionals there (his words) not having booster jab 'until they know more abt' variant, and efficacy of jab 3. have no idea whether that is relevant or even important but maybe shows the weakening of politicians 'do as i say not as i do' message? Anyways, short and comfortable, aside from level maybe, which can be enhanced, as has been today! GL all

@YorkshirePirlo It’s a matter of scientific consensus from practitioners, drugs manufacturing and government policy, together they make an ungodly mix, and best to scalp rather than long positions, perhaps an option for the great belivers!

In these markets, anyrhing is possible. With a decent breakout to the upside, the DAX could just as easily be knocking on 15600.

It's AstraZeneca PLC hightest market cap on the FTSE (makes up 17% of my forever fund) - up 2.58% today as considering listing their vaccine division. Likely to continue upwards until thats determined. Otherwise the usual suspects with oil up so too the FTSE...Take care with those shorts...just closed my at B/e when I spotted this catalyst...

Nice work. There's always the danger though I guess, that the last couple of weeks have been shaking out the weak ahead of a real santa rally.... Still a bit of me that wouldn't be surprised if this melted up to 7500... Always expect the unexpected.... But right now, the voice in my head that says 'just sell peaks and buy troughs' is winning out.
