FTSE 100 Forum Discussions

Red morning across the board but this FTSE index is not for turning.
Closed my 7600 short for 40 points - expected a larger sustained drop but it looks stubborn so might as well bank the profit and watch.
If we see 7650 I am throwing the kitchen sink at it.
There is no reason for this to keep pumping, although we may see 7650/7700 we will also see 7000 in the next 8 weeks. Just my opinion.
We will see 7400 before 7600
You could still be right Amritpal, although you were a whisker away from being wrong today!
Morning- does anybody know why the futures on IG for the FTSE have changed to long from Short overnight?
Might do Amar, might not. What I do know is when this breaks (which could happen for several reasons), it's a going to fly down and I'm going to be a very happy bloke. I've lost count of the times over the last four decades I've been well underwater then well on the money. No longs for me (at present), they would keep me awake at night due to the current world situation. Good luck all.

hello
A genuine question: I have seen of late a trading pattern which I have dubbed the Ayres rock pattern - straight up, flattish across the top, and then straight down. Is there an official name for this pattern? Can be seen in reverse as well

Hope the bears are feeling a little happier. Hang in there. But really have a good think if you want to trade Ftse in 2023.
Overeaction. This is the soft landing that FED was hoping for. The expected numbers for job opening were way to far down to achieve
Bleed liar. You were filled with pseudo hope.
Anyone know what the sudden drop was about
Good US employment data. Good is bad, and bad is good.
Amar -Hope you're going the dip..
Buying
No not buying any dips until it falls a lot further.
Keep an eye on the divergence zones printing atm....for confirmation of some meaningful pullback we really need the a 1hr MA res channel to form...GL

And at once there was a calm and a rising light appeared on the horizon. All rushed towards it but alas, they were returned by the realisation that light was the spark of the fission explosion.
He was. They were indeed funny and strange times. Let's hope so on the dcb.
They were indeed, he made around £500-600 on his crowdfunding page with some of his calls. He was entertaining and a good salesman lol. So are you long right?
I'm short! Been bag holding for a while. That crowdfunding thing was nuts. Heady days. I miss Brian Brian and his mint magnums!
If Credit Suisse go bang then I dread to think where world indices will end up. I remember being called a lunatic in a pub for shorting Northern Rock back in early 2007. I took pain for a while then.........cleaned up. in this climate of fear, this is more likely to hit 6000 than 8000.
Aye and the FTSE went below 4000 when the banks went.
It looks like it might have stabilised now
Credit Suisse CDS prices at 5 times its peers. Looks like a time bomb to me.
Hubris gonna getcha
4 hour timeframe - red candles. Hang in there.
