Globe Telecom, Inc. provides telecommunication services in the Philippines. It operates through Mobile Communications Services and Wireline Communication Services segments. The company offers digital wireless communications services under the Globe Postpaid and Prepaid, GOMO, and Touch Mobile name. It also provides digital mobile communication and internet-on-the-go services; voice, SMS, data, and value-added services; and domestic and international long distance communication services or carrier services. In addition, the company is involved in venture capital, land holding, distribution, marketing and distribution, tower, and advertising business; and management of capital investment funds, as well as technology platforms. Further, it provides wireline voice and data communications, support and share services, human capital management, data management, information technology and software development, warehouse and logistics, and data communication services; support and industry specific solutions; and A2P messaging. The company was formerly known as GMCR, Inc. and changed its name to Globe Telecom, Inc. in August 1998. Globe Telecom, Inc. was incorporated in 1935 and is headquartered in Taguig City, the Philippines.
