Investing.com – Russia equities were mixed at the close on Friday, as gains in the MICEX Mining, MICEX Power and MICEX Manufacturing sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the MICEX Telecom, MICEX Oil and Gas and MICEX Manufacturing sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the RTSI fell 1.35% to hit a new 1-month low, while the MICEX index added 0.49%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the RTSI were Bashneft ANK ap (pref) (MCX:BANE_p), which rose 9.56% or 108.0 points to trade at 1238.0 at the close. Transneft (pref) (MCX:TRNF_p) added 6.90% or 9160.0 points to end at 141900.0 and Surgut (MCX:SNGS) was up 6.76% or 1.970 points to 31.100 in late trade.
Biggest losers included LSR (MCX:LSRG), which lost 4.66% or 23.0 points to trade at 471.0 in late trade. NOVATEK (MCX:NVTK) declined 4.25% or 20.40 points to end at 460.00 and MegaFon OAO (MCX:MFON) shed 3.74% or 35.00 points to 900.00.
The top performers on the MICEX were Bashneft ANK ap (pref) (MCX:BANE_p) which rose 9.56% to 1238.0, Transneft (pref) (MCX:TRNF_p) which was up 6.90% to settle at 141900.0 and Surgut (MCX:SNGS) which gained 6.76% to close at 31.100.
The worst performers were LSR (MCX:LSRG) which was down 4.66% to 471.0 in late trade, NOVATEK (MCX:NVTK) which lost 4.25% to settle at 460.00 and MegaFon OAO (MCX:MFON) which was down 3.74% to 900.00 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 93 to 48 and 9 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for April delivery was up 1.66% or 20.80 to $1276.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude Oil for delivery in March rose 1.62% or 0.72 to hit $45.25 a barrel, while the March Brent Oil contract rose 0.72% or 0.35 to trade at $49.48 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 2.26% to 70.407, while EUR/RUB rose 2.08% to 79.520.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.04% at 95.00.
