Investing.com – Germany equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Technology, Transportation & Logistics and Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 0.58% to hit a new 3-month high, while the MDAX index added 0.35%, and the TecDAX index gained 1.67%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Deutsche Lufthansa AG (DE:LHAG), which rose 3.45% or 0.810 points to trade at 24.320 at the close. Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) added 2.94% or 0.625 points to end at 21.895 and Adidas AG (DE:ADSGN) was up 2.46% or 4.70 points to 196.10 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (DE:TKAG), which lost 1.50% or 0.375 points to trade at 24.700 in late trade. Heidelbergcement AG O.N. (DE:HEIG) declined 1.40% or 1.220 points to end at 85.750 and Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn) shed 0.96% or 0.140 points to 14.490.
The top performers on the MDAX were Jungheinrich AG O.N.VZO (DE:JUNG_p) which rose 4.37% to 40.625, Stroeer SE (DE:SAXG) which was up 2.57% to settle at 56.760 and Leoni AG (DE:LEOGn) which gained 2.53% to close at 57.530.
The worst performers were Schaeffler AG Pref (DE:SHA_p) which was down 1.50% to 13.45 in late trade, Osram Licht AG (F:OSRn) which lost 1.42% to settle at 66.460 and Aurubis AG (DE:NAFG) which was down 1.23% to 67.700 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Evotec AG O.N. (DE:EVTG) which rose 6.89% to 21.475, Nordex SE O.N. (DE:NDXG) which was up 4.89% to settle at 10.130 and Nemetschek AG O.N. (DE:NEKG) which gained 4.32% to close at 71.740.
The worst performers were Slm Solution G (DE:AM3D) which was down 1.69% to 35.00 in late trade, Pfeiffer Vacuum Technology O.N. (DE:PV) which lost 0.30% to settle at 133.00 and CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (DE:COPMa) which was down 0.25% to 47.800 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 514 to 254 and 23 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 3.07% to 11.81.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.49% or 6.29 to $1278.51 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 2.65% or 1.37 to hit $50.30 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.67% or 0.95 to trade at $55.84 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.60% to 1.1747, while EUR/GBP rose 0.39% to 0.8853.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.52% at 93.39.
