Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Consumer Services and Pharma & Bio-technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.10%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were UCB (BR:UCB), which rose 4.30% or 2.56 points to trade at 62.16 at the close. Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) added 2.52% or 0.52 points to end at 21.18 and Proximus NV (BR:PROX) was up 1.11% or 0.28 points to 25.49 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Telenet Group (BR:TNET), which lost 5.76% or 2.91 points to trade at 47.64 in late trade. Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR:ABI) declined 1.85% or 1.59 points to end at 84.19 and ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) shed 0.12% or 0.016 points to 13.882.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 64 to 47 and 15 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.42% or 5.50 to $1323.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.19% or 0.13 to hit $68.06 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 0.13% or 0.10 to trade at $74.64 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.02% to 1.2107, while EUR/GBP rose 1.02% to 0.8785.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 91.45.
