Oman Insurance Company PSC, a subsidiary of Mashreq Bank (PSC), is a United Arab Emirates-based company engaged in the business of issuing short-term and long-term insurance contracts, which are issued in connection with general insurance, individual life, group life, personal accident, medical and investment linked funds. The Company is organized into three business segments: the General Insurance segment comprises property, motor, general accident, aviation and marine risks; the Life Insurance segment includes individual life (participating and nonparticipating), medical, group life and personal accident, as well as investment linked funds, and the Investment segment comprises financial and non-financial investments. The Company also has operations in Oman and Qatar. As of December 31, 2011, the Company held 99.97%-stake in its subsidiary, Equator Trading Enterprises LLC. In September 2012, the Company acquired 51% stake in Dubai Group Sigorta SA.
