Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Wholesale & Retail Trade, Technology and Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 1.84%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Tekfen Holding AS (IS:TKFEN), which rose 9.98% or 5.25 points to trade at 57.85 at the close. Europower Enerji ve Otomasyon Teknolojileri Sanayi Ticaret AS (IS:EUPWR) added 3.34% or 0.92 points to end at 28.44 and Girisim Elektrik Taahhut Ticaret & Sanayi AS (IS:GESAN) was up 3.01% or 1.18 points to 40.32 in late trade.
Biggest losers included MLP Saglik Hizmetleri AS (IS:MPARK), which lost 5.91% or 19.00 points to trade at 302.25 in late trade. Enerjisa Enerji AS (IS:ENJSA) declined 5.57% or 3.20 points to end at 54.30 and Turkiye Vakiflar Bankasi TAO (IS:VAKBN) shed 5.32% or 1.24 points to 22.06.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 353 to 198 and 28 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.48% or 12.60 to $2,638.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 2.08% or 1.52 to hit $74.76 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 2.14% or 1.64 to trade at $78.22 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.03% to 34.22, while EUR/TRY fell 0.19% to 37.38.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 102.72.
