Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Technology, Transport and Basic Metals sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 1.92% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Ihlas Holding AS (IS:IHLAS), which rose 7.69% or 0.030 points to trade at 0.420 at the close. Aselsan Elektronik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:ASELS) added 6.05% or 1.46 points to end at 25.58 and Koza Anadolu Metal Madencilik Isletmeleri AS (IS:KOZAA) was up 5.23% or 0.320 points to 6.440 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Brisa Bridgestone Sabanci Lastik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:BRISA), which lost 0.91% or 0.06 points to trade at 6.53 in late trade. Ford Otomotiv Sanayi AS (IS:FROTO) declined 0.66% or 0.40 points to end at 60.10 and Kordsa Global Endustriyel Iplik ve Kord Bezi Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:KORDS) shed 0.59% or 0.04 points to 6.75.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 296 to 73 and 40 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.38% or 4.80 to $1258.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.67% or 0.50 to hit $73.64 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.24% or 0.19 to trade at $78.43 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 1.53% to 4.5959, while EUR/TRY fell 1.21% to 5.3822.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.11% at 94.09.
