Investing.com – Russia equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Power and Mining sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia Index lost 1.90%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MOEX Russia Index were Polyus PJSC (MCX:PLZL), which rose 0.57% or 82.50 points to trade at 14,512.50 at the close. Rosneft PJSC (MCX:ROSN) added 0.25% or 1.20 points to end at 490.50 and GDR ROS AGRO PLC ORD SHS (MCX:AGRODR) was unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 points to 1,083.80 in late trade.
Biggest losers included VK Company Ltd (MCX:VKCO), which lost 6.57% or 18.20 points to trade at 258.80 in late trade. ROSSETI PJSC (MCX:FEES) unchanged 5.51% or 0.00 points to end at 0.07 and ADS Ozon Holdings PLC ORD SHS (MCX:OZONDR) shed 4.91% or 141.00 points to 2,730.50.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 226 to 22 and 5 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian Volatility Index – RVI, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia Index options, was up 0.60% to 46.99.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.26% or 6.80 to $2,665.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 2.70% or 1.84 to hit $69.94 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 2.48% or 1.78 to trade at $73.61 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 1.41% to 105.01, while EUR/RUB fell 1.29% to 110.35.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.10% at 106.32.
