Investing.com – Russia equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Power, Oil & Gas and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia Index declined 1.63%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MOEX Russia Index were PhosAgro PJSC (MCX:PHOR), which rose 5.16% or 276.00 points to trade at 5,625.00 at the close. Polyus PJSC (MCX:PLZL) added 2.65% or 349.50 points to end at 13,539.00 and GDR ROS AGRO PLC ORD SHS (MCX:AGRODR) was up 2.63% or 33.00 points to 1,286.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Magnit PJSC (MCX:MGNT), which lost 7.60% or 430.50 points to trade at 5,236.50 in late trade. ROSSETI PJSC (MCX:FEES) unchanged 2.48% or 0.00 points to end at 0.08 and TKS Holding MKPAO (MCX:TCSG) shed 2.42% or 63.50 points to 2,560.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 186 to 66 and 3 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian Volatility Index – RVI, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia Index options, was down 1.67% to 30.11.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.96% or 25.40 to $2,684.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 3.80% or 2.59 to hit $70.76 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.20% or 0.15 to trade at $74.58 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.01% to 95.85, while EUR/RUB unchanged 0.00% to 106.10.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.42% at 100.94.
