Investing.com – Russia equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Power, Mining and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia fell 0.57%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MOEX Russia were Gazprom PAO (MCX:GAZP), which rose 1.19% or 2.00 points to trade at 170.50 at the close. Sberbank Rossii OAO Pref (MCX:SBER_p) added 0.73% or 1.17 points to end at 162.50 and MegaFon OAO (MCX:MFON) was up 0.38% or 2.20 points to 581.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included United Company Rusal Plc (MCX:RUAL), which lost 3.52% or 1.020 points to trade at 27.990 in late trade. Safmar Finansovye Investitsii PAO (MCX:SFIN) declined 3.49% or 25.8 points to end at 714.2 and AFK Sistema (MCX:AFKS) shed 3.30% or 0.290 points to 8.505.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 133 to 79 and 17 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was up 1.39% to 28.410.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.27% or 3.20 to $1204.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.44% or 0.33 to hit $74.66 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.15% or 0.13 to trade at $84.71 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.46% to 66.7075, while EUR/RUB fell 0.49% to 76.7725.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.04% at 95.39.
