Investing.com – Russia equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Mining, Telecoms and Power sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia declined 0.18%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MOEX Russia were SG mechel (MCX:MTLR), which rose 1.92% or 1.46 points to trade at 77.62 at the close. Surgut-pref (MCX:SNGS_p) added 1.53% or 0.600 points to end at 39.770 and Aeroflot (MCX:AFLT) was up 1.49% or 1.56 points to 106.22 in late trade.
Biggest losers included NK Rosneft PAO (MCX:ROSN), which lost 1.54% or 6.70 points to trade at 427.90 in late trade. NLMK ao (MCX:NLMK) declined 1.48% or 2.28 points to end at 152.22 and MMK (MCX:MAGN) shed 1.38% or 0.630 points to 44.970.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 106 to 100 and 22 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was down 2.04% to 24.490.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.09% or 1.15 to $1290.65 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 0.48% or 0.25 to hit $51.34 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.76% or 0.46 to trade at $60.02 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.12% to 66.9755, while EUR/RUB rose 0.18% to 76.8404.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.11% at 95.157.
