Investing.com – Russia equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Telecoms, Mining and Power sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia Index added 0.59%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MOEX Russia Index were Rostelekom PJSC (MCX:RTKM), which rose 4.22% or 2.50 points to trade at 61.76 at the close. Moskovskiy Kreditnyi Bank PAO (MCX:CBOM) added 3.22% or 0.19 points to end at 6.03 and Polyus PJSC (MCX:PLZL) was up 2.97% or 436.50 points to 15,152.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included AFK Sistema PJSC (MCX:AFKS), which lost 4.22% or 0.53 points to trade at 12.04 in late trade. Moskovskaya Birzha PJSC (MCX:MOEX) declined 0.17% or 0.31 points to end at 187.35 and Sberbank Rossii PJSC Pref (MCX:SBER_p) shed 0.13% or 0.32 points to 237.80.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 141 to 99 and 14 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian Volatility Index – RVI, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia Index options, was down 0.61% to 40.56.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.12% or 3.25 to $2,746.05 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.10% or 0.07 to hit $69.33 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.28% or 0.20 to trade at $72.65 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.65% to 98.00, while EUR/RUB rose 0.19% to 106.18.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.35% at 104.24.
