Investing.com – Russia equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Oil and Gas, Mining and Manufacturing sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the RTSI rose 0.77%, while the MICEX index gained 1.39%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the RTSI were MVideo (MCX:MVID), which rose 8.28% or 13.80 points to trade at 180.40 at the close. TMK ao (MCX:TRMK) added 7.10% or 3.50 points to end at 52.80 and Surgut (MCX:SNGS) was up 6.73% or 2.300 points to 36.500 in late trade.
Biggest losers included PIK (MCX:PIKK), which lost 1.49% or 2.90 points to trade at 192.10 in late trade. Moskovskaya Birzha OAO (MCX:MOEX) declined 1.16% or 0.89 points to end at 76.01 and DIXY Group ao (MCX:DIXY) shed 1.13% or 5.40 points to 470.50.
The top performers on the MICEX were MVideo (MCX:MVID) which rose 8.28% to 180.40, TMK ao (MCX:TRMK) which was up 7.10% to settle at 52.80 and Surgut (MCX:SNGS) which gained 6.73% to close at 36.500.
The worst performers were PIK (MCX:PIKK) which was down 1.49% to 192.10 in late trade, Moskovskaya Birzha OAO (MCX:MOEX) which lost 1.16% to settle at 76.01 and DIXY Group ao (MCX:DIXY) which was down 1.13% to 470.50 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 91 to 60 and 5 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for April delivery was down 0.42% or 5.10 to $1208.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude Oil for delivery in April rose 1.61% or 0.80 to hit $50.56 a barrel, while the April Brent Oil contract fell 3.54% or 2.21 to trade at $60.37 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 1.57% to 62.185, while EUR/RUB rose 0.69% to 69.562.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.18% at 95.46.
