Investing.com – Germany equities were mixed at the close on Friday, as gains in the Construction, Insurance and Financial Services sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Basic Resources, Telecoms and Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 0.27%, while the MDAX index fell 0.11%, and the TecDAX index declined 0.15%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were E.ON SE NA (DE:EONGn), which rose 2.22% or 0.204 points to trade at 9.387 at the close. Adidas AG (DE:ADSGN) added 1.86% or 3.15 points to end at 172.25 and Bayer AG NA (DE:BAYGN) was up 1.33% or 1.40 points to 106.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included RWE AG ST O.N. (DE:RWEG), which lost 2.69% or 0.465 points to trade at 16.805 in late trade. Linde AG O.N. (DE:LING) declined 1.48% or 2.70 points to end at 179.80 and Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (DE:TKAG) shed 1.20% or 0.285 points to 23.445.
The top performers on the MDAX were Wacker Chemie O.N. (DE:WCHG) which rose 2.74% to 159.10, Deutsche Wohnen AG (DE:DWNG) which was up 1.41% to settle at 36.955 and Tag Immobilien AG (DE:TEGG) which gained 1.41% to close at 15.810.
The worst performers were Steinhoff International Holdings NV (DE:SNHG) which was down 6.45% to 0.54 in late trade, Stroeer SE (DE:SAXG) which lost 2.68% to settle at 63.460 and Kion Group AG (DE:KGX) which was down 2.47% to 67.61 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were RIB Software AG Na (DE:RIB) which rose 3.20% to 23.250, Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which was up 2.79% to settle at 119.850 and Draegerwerk VZO O.N. (DE:DRWG_p) which gained 2.28% to close at 71.820.
The worst performers were Evotec AG O.N. (DE:EVTG) which was down 4.93% to 13.400 in late trade, Slm Solution G (DE:AM3D) which lost 4.59% to settle at 42.22 and Dialog Semiconductor (DE:DLGS) which was down 1.67% to 23.000 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 409 to 383 and 34 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 5.67% to 12.44 a new 1-month low.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.06% or 0.70 to $1257.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.39% or 0.22 to hit $57.26 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.16% or 0.10 to trade at $63.21 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.02% to 1.1776, while EUR/GBP rose 0.89% to 0.8848.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.21% at 93.84.
