Investing.com – Germany equities were mixed at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Food & Beverages, Media and Financial Services sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Consumer & Cyclical, Construction and Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX fell 0.18%, while the MDAX index climbed 0.48%, and the TecDAX index fell 0.01%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (ETR:MTXGn), which rose 1.61% or 4.90 points to trade at 308.80 at the close. Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn) added 1.20% or 0.39 points to end at 32.83 and Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (ETR:DBKGn) was up 1.04% or 0.17 points to 16.08 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Adidas AG (ETR:ADSGN), which lost 6.26% or 15.00 points to trade at 224.70 in late trade. Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) declined 4.03% or 9.60 points to end at 228.60 and Qiagen NV (ETR:QIA) shed 2.04% or 0.83 points to 40.02.
The top performers on the MDAX were Puma SE (ETR:PUMG) which rose 3.60% to 39.18, Hypoport AG (ETR:HYQGn) which was up 3.53% to settle at 293.20 and Aurubis AG (ETR:NAFG) which gained 3.34% to close at 64.95.
The worst performers were Jenoptik AG (ETR:JENGn) which was down 4.73% to 25.40 in late trade, Stabilus (ETR:STM1) which lost 1.77% to settle at 36.15 and HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) which was down 1.69% to 8.86 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Nagarro SE (ETR:NA9n) which rose 17.49% to 93.70, Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which was up 2.66% to settle at 5.41 and 11 AG (ETR:1U1) which gained 2.03% to close at 14.06.
The worst performers were Jenoptik AG (ETR:JENGn) which was down 4.73% to 25.40 in late trade, Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) which lost 4.03% to settle at 228.60 and SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which was down 3.19% to 15.15 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 312 to 308 and 29 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 2.44% to 16.43.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.23% or 6.05 to $2,684.95 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.16% or 0.11 to hit $70.47 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to trade at $74.25 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.16% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.41% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.22% at 103.28.
