Investing.com – Germany equities were mixed at the close on Monday, as gains in the DAX Basic Resources, DAX Insurance and DAX Utilities sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the DAX Technology, Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare and DAX Transportation & Logistics sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 1.25%, while the MDAX index added 0.52%, and the TecDAX index lost 0.87%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Lanxess AG (XETRA:LXSG), which rose 2.60% or 1.105 points to trade at 43.655 at the close. Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (XETRA:DBKGn) added 2.19% or 0.565 points to end at 26.365 and BASF SE NA O.N. (XETRA:BASFN) was up 2.08% or 1.650 points to 81.150 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Lufthansa AG VNA O.N. (XETRA:LHAG), which lost 3.32% or 0.500 points to trade at 14.555 in late trade. Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (XETRA:TKAG) declined 1.60% or 0.370 points to end at 22.720 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (XETRA:IFXGn) shed 1.12% or 0.112 points to 9.865.
The top performers on the MDAX were Aurubis AG (XETRA:NAFG) which rose 3.17% to 49.695, Metro AG ST O.N. (XETRA:MEOG) which was up 2.45% to settle at 27.980 and Tag Immobilien AG (XETRA:TEGG) which gained 2.13% to close at 11.760.
The worst performers were Rhoen-Klinikum O.N. (XETRA:RHKG) which was down 2.11% to 22.985 in late trade, Wincor Nixdorf O.N. (XETRA:WING) which lost 1.52% to settle at 40.055 and Airbus Group (XETRA:AIRG) which was down 1.38% to 47.049 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Nemetschek AG O.N. (XETRA:NEKG) which rose 6.97% to 99.000, SMA Solar Technology AG (XETRA:S92G) which was up 3.23% to settle at 11.345 and Jenoptik AG O.N. (XETRA:JENG) which gained 2.44% to close at 12.185.
The worst performers were Aixtron SE NA O.N. (XETRA:AIXGn) which was down 9.26% to 6.376 in late trade, Stratec Biomedical (XETRA:SBSG) which lost 3.57% to settle at 46.040 and Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (XETRA:SATG_p) which was down 3.35% to 109.700 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 315 to 265 and 178 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 1.70% to 20.85.
In commodities trading, Gold for April delivery was down 0.16% or 2.10 to $1277.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude Oil for delivery in March rose 1.84% or 0.89 to hit $49.13 a barrel, while the March Brent Oil contract rose 2.41% or 1.27 to trade at $54.27 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.44% to 1.1337, while EUR/GBP rose 0.68% to 0.7547.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.28% at 94.79.
