Investing.com – Germany equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Insurance, Basic Resources and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 0.91%, while the MDAX index gained 0.84%, and the TecDAX index gained 1.41%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were RWE AG ST O.N. (DE:RWEG), which rose 3.87% or 0.765 points to trade at 20.550 at the close. Allianz SE VNA O.N. (DE:ALVG) added 3.22% or 5.62 points to end at 180.00 and E.ON SE NA (DE:EONGn) was up 2.44% or 0.226 points to 9.479 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Covestro AG (DE:1COV), which lost 0.66% or 0.500 points to trade at 74.740 in late trade. Bayer AG NA (DE:BAYGN) declined 0.29% or 0.28 points to end at 94.64 and Linde AG 1 (DE:LIN1) shed 0.05% or 0.1000 points to 203.8000.
The top performers on the MDAX were Aurubis AG (DE:NAFG) which rose 3.55% to 67.160, Wacker Chemie O.N. (DE:WCHG) which was up 3.52% to settle at 116.25 and Kion Group AG (DE:KGX) which gained 3.11% to close at 64.30.
The worst performers were Osram Licht AG (DE:OSRn) which was down 4.32% to 32.14 in late trade, Fielmann AG (DE:FIEG) which lost 1.91% to settle at 56.450 and GEA Group AG (DE:G1AG) which was down 0.67% to 28.060 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Isra Vision O.N. (DE:ISRG) which rose 5.90% to 57.40, Nordex SE O.N. (DE:NDXG) which was up 5.50% to settle at 8.858 and Medigene NA O.N. (DE:MDG1k) which gained 4.49% to close at 12.110.
The worst performers were Aixtron SE (DE:AIXGn) which was down 4.68% to 10.090 in late trade, RIB Software AG Na (DE:RIB) which lost 1.68% to settle at 18.720 and Bechtle AG (DE:BC8G) which was down 0.29% to 68.100 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 476 to 237 and 69 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 8.54% to 17.63.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.20% or 14.90 to $1256.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.04% or 0.03 to hit $73.91 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.06% or 0.05 to trade at $77.25 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.06% to 1.1646, while EUR/GBP fell 0.12% to 0.8845.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.19% at 94.42.
