Investing.com – Germany equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Retail, Utilities and Food & Beverages sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 0.58%, while the MDAX index gained 0.53%, and the TecDAX index climbed 0.30%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG), which rose 3.17% or 0.85 points to trade at 27.68 at the close. Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n) added 2.88% or 0.93 points to end at 33.23 and RWE AG ST O.N. (ETR:RWEG) was up 2.77% or 0.86 points to 31.94 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG), which lost 5.68% or 0.89 points to trade at 14.78 in late trade. BASF SE NA O.N. (ETR:BASFN) declined 1.89% or 0.87 points to end at 45.15 and Merck KGaA (ETR:MRCG) shed 1.27% or 2.00 points to 155.55.
The top performers on the MDAX were Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which rose 4.43% to 31.36, Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (ETR:AT1) which was up 3.71% to settle at 2.77 and Hypoport AG (ETR:HYQGn) which gained 2.99% to close at 275.20.
The worst performers were Aurubis AG (ETR:NAFG) which was down 10.13% to 63.00 in late trade, Gerresheimer AG (ETR:GXIG) which lost 2.17% to settle at 96.95 and HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) which was down 2.06% to 8.28 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which rose 2.81% to 17.90, Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which was up 2.75% to settle at 58.00 and SUSS MicroTec SE (ETR:SMHNn) which gained 2.11% to close at 58.10.
The worst performers were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which was down 3.58% to 5.79 in late trade, Elmos Semiconductor AG (ETR:ELGG) which lost 3.43% to settle at 62.00 and Jenoptik AG (ETR:JENGn) which was down 2.02% to 26.16 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 366 to 257 and 28 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 7.83% to 14.20.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.28% or 7.30 to $2,653.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 1.42% or 1.01 to hit $69.99 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.17% or 0.86 to trade at $72.83 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.33% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.56% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 100.56.
