Investing.com – Germany equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Consumer & Cyclical, Food & Beverages and Insurance sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 0.44% to hit a new 1-month high, while the MDAX index climbed 0.44%, and the TecDAX index gained 0.75%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Continental AG O.N. (ETR:CONG), which rose 2.74% or 1.64 points to trade at 61.46 at the close. Adidas AG (ETR:ADSGN) added 2.19% or 4.80 points to end at 223.70 and Brenntag AG (ETR:BNRGn) was up 1.72% or 1.12 points to 66.28 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn), which lost 1.52% or 0.48 points to trade at 31.19 in late trade. Daimler Truck Holding AG (ETR:DTGGe) declined 1.19% or 0.41 points to end at 34.16 and Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG) shed 1.04% or 0.26 points to 24.63.
The top performers on the MDAX were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which rose 9.21% to 6.76, Tui AG NA (ETR:TUI1n) which was up 5.03% to settle at 6.18 and Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which gained 3.67% to close at 65.00.
The worst performers were HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) which was down 3.99% to 7.32 in late trade, Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which lost 3.29% to settle at 23.83 and Traton SE (ETR:8TRA) which was down 2.51% to 29.10 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which rose 9.21% to 6.76, Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which was up 3.67% to settle at 65.00 and 11 AG (ETR:1U1) which gained 2.76% to close at 14.14.
The worst performers were SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which was down 1.89% to 20.80 in late trade, Cancom SE O.N. (ETR:COKG) which lost 1.06% to settle at 27.92 and Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which was down 1.02% to 33.00 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 307 to 303 and 29 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 2.27% to 14.38.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.36% or 9.25 to $2,545.95 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.05% or 1.59 to hit $75.83 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 1.80% or 1.45 to trade at $78.91 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.01% to 1.12, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.31% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.09% at 100.65.
