Investing.com – Germany equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Consumer & Cyclical, Retail and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 0.34%, while the MDAX index gained 0.71%, and the TecDAX index added 0.71%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Adidas AG (DE:ADSGN), which rose 9.39% or 17.90 points to trade at 208.45 at the close. Linde AG 1 (DE:LIN1) added 0.78% or 1.5000 points to end at 192.7500 and Deutsche Post AG NA O.N. (DE:DPWGn) was up 0.71% or 0.220 points to 31.310 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (DE:TKAG), which lost 1.72% or 0.370 points to trade at 21.090 in late trade. Fresenius SE & Co KGAA O.N. (DE:FREG) declined 1.69% or 1.140 points to end at 66.240 and Heidelbergcement AG O.N. (DE:HEIG) shed 1.32% or 0.960 points to 71.520.
The top performers on the MDAX were Duerr AG (DE:DUEG) which rose 5.11% to 40.930, Zalando SE (DE:ZALG) which was up 4.66% to settle at 45.18 and Puma SE (DE:PUMG) which gained 4.50% to close at 430.00.
The worst performers were Stroeer SE (DE:SAXG) which was down 5.00% to 50.300 in late trade, Aurubis AG (DE:NAFG) which lost 3.29% to settle at 65.760 and Salzgitter AG (DE:SZGG) which was down 1.31% to 39.880 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Evotec AG O.N. (DE:EVTG) which rose 5.61% to 19.310, Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p) which was up 1.92% to settle at 143.200 and Nemetschek AG O.N. (DE:NEKG) which gained 1.79% to close at 125.300.
The worst performers were SMA Solar Technology AG (DE:S92G) which was down 11.03% to 31.620 in late trade, SLM Solutions Group AG (DE:AM3D) which lost 5.04% to settle at 24.50 and Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which was down 2.15% to 143.400 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 383 to 315 and 79 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 3.49% to 15.23.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.04% or 0.50 to $1220.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.04% or 0.03 to hit $66.91 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.11% or 0.08 to trade at $72.20 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.44% to 1.1559, while EUR/GBP fell 0.28% to 0.8987.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.32% at 95.25.
