Investing.com – France equities were mixed at the close on Friday, as gains in the Technology, Consumer Goods and Financials sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Aerospace & Defense, General Financial and Industrial Engineering sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 0.48%, while the SBF 120 index added 0.40%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Air Liquide SA (EPA:AIRP), which rose 0.96% or 1.78 points to trade at 187.28 at the close. Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) added 0.92% or 0.95 points to end at 104.60 and Capgemini SE (EPA:CAPP) was up 0.90% or 1.75 points to 195.25 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Orange SA (EPA:ORAN), which lost 4.10% or 0.43 points to trade at 10.06 in late trade. Engie SA (EPA:ENGIE) declined 2.88% or 0.45 points to end at 15.00 and Vinci SA (EPA:SGEF) shed 2.59% or 2.95 points to 110.75.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Voltalia SA (EPA:VLTSA) which rose 3.17% to 11.72, Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) which was up 1.90% to settle at 13.72 and Vusiongroup SA (EPA:VU) which gained 1.87% to close at 147.10.
The worst performers were Euroapi SAS (EPA:EAPI) which was down 17.89% to 3.19 in late trade, Ayvens SA (EPA:AYV) which lost 5.01% to settle at 6.45 and Eurazeo (EPA:EURA) which was down 4.36% to 75.60 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 287 to 214 and 102 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 2.89% or 69.20 to $2,321.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.25% or 0.19 to hit $75.36 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.46% or 0.37 to trade at $79.50 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.73% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.25% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.74% at 104.82.
