Investing.com – France equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Industrials, Basic Materials and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 0.48%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.47%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Bouygues SA (EPA:BOUY), which rose 3.09% or 0.91 points to trade at 30.37 at the close. Safran SA (EPA:SAF) added 2.99% or 6.30 points to end at 217.20 and Publicis Groupe SA (EPA:PUBP) was up 2.86% or 2.81 points to 101.05 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Vivendi SA (EPA:VIV), which lost 1.65% or 0.16 points to trade at 9.53 in late trade. Societe Generale SA (EPA:SOGN) declined 1.53% or 0.42 points to end at 26.78 and Capgemini SE (EPA:CAPP) shed 1.36% or 2.20 points to 159.80.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Bouygues SA (EPA:BOUY) which rose 3.09% to 30.37, Imerys SA (EPA:IMTP) which was up 3.07% to settle at 30.84 and Safran SA (EPA:SAF) which gained 2.99% to close at 217.20.
The worst performers were Solutions 30 SE (EPA:S30) which was down 8.75% to 1.11 in late trade, Clariane SE (EPA:CLARI) which lost 4.10% to settle at 2.01 and Emeis SA (EPA:EMEIS) which was down 4.09% to 6.28 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 256 to 214 and 111 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.11% or 2.90 to $2,749.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 1.55% or 1.11 to hit $72.58 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 1.39% or 1.04 to trade at $76.12 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.40% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.11% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.35% at 103.43.
