Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Utilities and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 0.65%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which rose 0.72% or 0.20 points to trade at 28.10 at the close. Umicore SA (EBR:UMI) added 0.56% or 0.06 points to end at 10.70 and Argen-X (EBR:ARGX) was up 0.55% or 2.80 points to 512.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Warehouses de Pauw Comm VA (EBR:WDPP), which lost 3.31% or 0.74 points to trade at 21.60 in late trade. Elia (EBR:ELI) declined 2.15% or 2.10 points to end at 95.40 and Sofina (EBR:SOF) shed 1.84% or 4.40 points to 234.60.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 63 to 33 and 12 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.21% or 5.85 to $2,735.85 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 1.94% or 1.33 to hit $70.02 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 1.59% or 1.16 to trade at $74.22 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.41% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.11% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.43% at 103.75.
