Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Basic Metals, Banking and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 1.86% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Tumosan Motor Ve Traktor (IS:TMSN), which rose 6.98% or 0.460 points to trade at 7.050 at the close. Netas Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:NETAS) added 5.07% or 0.55 points to end at 11.40 and Torunlar Gmyo (IS:TRGYO) was up 5.02% or 0.16 points to 3.35 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Fenerbahce Futbol (IS:FENER), which lost 2.83% or 1.30 points to trade at 44.60 in late trade. Sasa Polyester (IS:SASA) declined 2.64% or 0.060 points to end at 2.210 and Saf Gmyo (IS:SAFGY) shed 1.79% or 0.020 points to 1.100.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 282 to 110 and 18 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to $1146.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.58% or 0.28 to hit $48.25 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.28% or 0.14 to trade at $51.77 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.88% to 2.9321, while EUR/TRY fell 1.09% to 3.2991.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.05% at 95.58.
