Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were mixed at the close on Monday, as gains in the Services, Finance & Investment and Transport sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Telecoms, Consumer Staples and Banking sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General lost 0.28%, while the ADX General index gained 0.24%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were Gulf Navigation Holding PJSC (DU:GNAV), which rose 4.44% or 0.040 points to trade at 0.940 at the close. Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE) added 4.42% or 0.080 points to end at 1.890 and Deyaar Development PJSC (DU:DEYR) was up 3.08% or 0.020 points to 0.670 in late trade.
Biggest losers included SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA), which lost 3.67% or 0.025 points to trade at 0.657 in late trade. Gulf General Investments Company (DU:GGIC) declined 3.13% or 0.021 points to end at 0.650 and Takaful House (DU:DTKF) shed 1.85% or 0.010 points to 0.530.
The top performers on the ADX General were Natl Co Bldg M (AD:BILD) which rose 6.38% to 0.500, Ad Shipbldg Co (AD:ADSB) which was up 3.32% to settle at 2.80 and Gulf Cement Co (AD:GCEM) which gained 3.16% to close at 0.98.
The worst performers were National Marine Dredging PSC (AD:NMDC) which was down 8.20% to 5.04 in late trade, Dana Gas (AD:DANA) which lost 6.67% to settle at 0.560 and Al Khazna Ins (AD:AKIC) which was down 5.71% to 0.330 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 15 to 9 and 5 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 14 fell and 12 advanced, while 2 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was down 0.15% or 0.06 to $39.66 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June fell 0.12% or 0.05 to hit $41.89 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.64% or 8.00 to trade at $1251.80 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was unchanged 0.00% to 3.6731, while EUR/AED fell 0.06% to 4.1844.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.08% at 94.14.
