Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Basic Metals, Technology and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 0.75%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Ihlas Holding AS (IS:IHLAS), which rose 10.00% or 0.030 points to trade at 0.330 at the close. Yatas Yatak ve Yorgan Sanayi Ticaret AS (IS:YATAS) added 4.47% or 0.190 points to end at 4.440 and Celebi Hava Servisi AS (IS:CLEBI) was up 3.38% or 1.90 points to 58.10 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ICBC Turkey Bank AS (IS:ICBCT), which lost 10.11% or 0.560 points to trade at 4.980 in late trade. Goltas Goller Bolgesi Cimento Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:GOLTS) declined 4.38% or 0.66 points to end at 14.42 and Karsan Otomotiv Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:KARSN) shed 3.05% or 0.040 points to 1.270.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 205 to 145 and 56 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.27% or 3.40 to $1259.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 3.43% or 1.65 to hit $46.52 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 2.95% or 1.69 to trade at $55.55 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.42% to 5.2636, while EUR/TRY fell 0.02% to 6.0163.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.33% at 96.162.
