Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Information Technology, Technology and Banking sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 0.49%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Tukas Gida Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:TUKAS), which rose 6.18% or 0.44 points to trade at 7.56 at the close. Anadolu Efes Biracilik ve Malt Sanayi AS (IS:AEFES) added 5.85% or 16.00 points to end at 289.50 and Akfen Gayrimenkul Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:AKFGY) was up 4.58% or 0.11 points to 2.51 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Peker Gayrimenkul Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:PEKGY), which lost 9.91% or 0.94 points to trade at 8.55 in late trade. Sdt Uzay ve Savunma Teknolojileri AS (IS:SDTTR) declined 7.94% or 22.75 points to end at 263.75 and Katilimevim Tasarruf Finansman AS (IS:KTLEV) shed 6.50% or 3.41 points to 49.04.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 396 to 156 and 19 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.77% or 18.35 to $2,386.25 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.17% or 0.95 to hit $82.36 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.92% or 0.78 to trade at $85.44 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.15% to 32.87, while EUR/TRY fell 0.02% to 35.58.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.09% at 104.71.
