Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Basic Metals, Textile & Leather and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 1.50%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Banvit Bandirma Vitaminli Yem Sanayi AS (IS:BANVT), which rose 9.16% or 0.940 points to trade at 11.200 at the close. Teknosa Ic ve Dis Ticaret AS (IS:TKNSA) added 8.64% or 0.330 points to end at 4.150 and Eregli Demir ve Celik Fabrikalari TAS (IS:EREGL) was up 5.63% or 0.580 points to 10.890 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kardemir Karabuk Demir Celik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS Class D (IS:KRDMD), which lost 3.72% or 0.160 points to trade at 4.140 in late trade. Ihlas Holding AS (IS:IHLAS) declined 3.03% or 0.010 points to end at 0.320 and TAV Havalimanlari Holding (IS:TAVHL) shed 2.84% or 0.66 points to 22.56.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 245 to 109 and 54 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.17% or 2.20 to $1277.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 1.72% or 1.13 to hit $64.56 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.70% or 0.53 to trade at $74.81 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.36% to 4.7216, while EUR/TRY fell 0.06% to 5.4676.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.33% at 94.72.
