Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms & IT, Financial Services & Real Estate and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 fell 1.60%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were SOLARIA ENERGIA Y MEDIO AMBIENTE (BME:SLRS), which rose 0.88% or 0.10 points to trade at 11.50 at the close. Aena SME SA (BME:AENA) added 0.06% or 0.10 points to end at 181.20 and Acerinox (BME:ACX) was down 0.15% or 0.02 points to 9.89 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Naturgy Energy Group SA (BME:NTGY), which lost 14.96% or 3.72 points to trade at 21.14 in late trade. Caixabank SA (BME:CABK) declined 3.15% or 0.17 points to end at 5.10 and Cellnex Telecom SA (BME:CLNX) shed 3.10% or 1.04 points to 32.54.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 162 to 45 and 17 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.10% or 2.35 to $2,329.35 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.41% or 0.32 to hit $78.06 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.53% or 0.43 to trade at $82.06 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.25% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.19% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.15% at 104.95.
