Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Financial Services & Real Estate and Building & Construction sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 fell 0.38%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Fluidra (BME:FLUI), which rose 2.73% or 0.60 points to trade at 22.54 at the close. SOLARIA ENERGIA Y MEDIO AMBIENTE (BME:SLRS) added 2.34% or 0.27 points to end at 11.81 and Caixabank SA (BME:CABK) was up 0.96% or 0.05 points to 5.48 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Acerinox (BME:ACX), which lost 1.80% or 0.18 points to trade at 9.84 in late trade. Industria de Diseno Textil SA (BME:ITX) declined 1.65% or 0.88 points to end at 52.38 and Puig Brands SA (BME:PUIGb) shed 1.38% or 0.28 points to 19.67.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 105 to 87 and 22 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.12% or 3.10 to $2,680.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 2.18% or 1.56 to hit $70.00 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.71% or 1.27 to trade at $73.20 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.33% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.26% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.37% at 100.53.
