Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Building & Construction and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 gained 0.99%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Caixabank SA (BME:CABK), which rose 2.92% or 0.14 points to trade at 5.00 at the close. Enagas (BME:ENAG) added 2.71% or 0.38 points to end at 14.41 and Ferrovial (BME:FER) was up 2.25% or 0.80 points to 36.36 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Telefonica (BME:TEF), which lost 3.68% or 0.15 points to trade at 4.00 in late trade. Laboratorios Farmaceuticos ROVI (BME:ROVI) declined 2.29% or 2.00 points to end at 85.20 and Corporacion Acciona Energias Renovables SA (BME:ANE) shed 1.46% or 0.30 points to 20.24.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 118 to 68 and 32 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.65% or 15.15 to $2,344.15 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.80% or 0.64 to hit $80.36 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.82% or 0.69 to trade at $84.94 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.07% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.11% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 104.86.
