Investing.com – Russia equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Telecoms, Mining and Power sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia Index lost 0.35%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MOEX Russia Index were GDR Globaltrans Inves ORD SHS (MCX:GLTRDR), which rose 2.84% or 14.05 points to trade at 508.15 at the close. Surgutneftegas PJSC (MCX:SNGS) added 2.20% or 0.57 points to end at 26.23 and Surgutneftegas PJSC Pref (MCX:SNGS_p) was up 1.83% or 1.00 points to 55.28 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Rostelekom PJSC (MCX:RTKM), which lost 2.98% or 2.21 points to trade at 71.88 in late trade. FGK Rusgidro PAO (MCX:HYDR) declined 1.29% or 0.01 points to end at 0.53 and Severstal PJSC (MCX:CHMF) shed 1.26% or 15.60 points to 1,220.40.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 182 to 64 and 8 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian Volatility Index – RVI, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia Index options, was up 2.93% to 32.67.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.22% or 5.90 to $2,661.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 3.91% or 2.91 to hit $77.29 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.07% or 0.06 to trade at $81.12 a barrel.
USD/RUB was unchanged 0.00% to 96.20, while EUR/RUB unchanged 0.00% to 105.57.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 102.26.
