Investing.com – Russia equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Telecoms, Mining and Power sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia declined 1.63%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MOEX Russia were Moskovskaya Birzha OAO (MCX:MOEX), which rose 3.08% or 7.14 points to trade at 239.30 at the close. Magnit (MCX:MGNT) added 0.46% or 27.00 points to end at 5,929.50 and X5 Retail Group NV (MCX:FIVEDR) was unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 points to 2,798.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included AFK Sistema (MCX:AFKS), which lost 7.71% or 1.81 points to trade at 21.66 in late trade. PIK (MCX:PIKK) declined 6.09% or 51.50 points to end at 793.90 and Aeroflot (MCX:AFLT) shed 4.48% or 2.60 points to 55.46.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 211 to 33 and 8 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was unchanged 0.00% to 26.90.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.37% or 32.20 to $2,385.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 2.35% or 1.84 to hit $76.44 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 2.26% or 1.86 to trade at $80.51 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 1.30% to 86.11, while EUR/RUB rose 1.40% to 93.47.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.03% at 104.07.
