Investing.com – Russia equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Mining and Power sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia declined 1.35% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MOEX Russia were PhosAgro ao (MCX:PHOR), which rose 2.76% or 65.0 points to trade at 2420.0 at the close. AFK Sistema (MCX:AFKS) added 2.17% or 0.250 points to end at 11.755 and Aeroflot (MCX:AFLT) was up 1.31% or 1.80 points to 139.30 in late trade.
Biggest losers included MMK (MCX:MAGN), which lost 4.18% or 1.905 points to trade at 43.720 in late trade. NLMK ao (MCX:NLMK) declined 3.53% or 5.05 points to end at 137.95 and Tatneft-3 (MCX:TATN) shed 3.38% or 18.80 points to 536.70.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 170 to 56 and 10 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was up 0.08% to 24.360.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to $1319.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 2.83% or 1.73 to hit $59.42 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 2.65% or 1.72 to trade at $63.09 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.05% to 58.3895, while EUR/RUB fell 0.27% to 71.3629.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.18% at 90.35.
