Investing.com – Russia equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Telecoms, Oil & Gas and Power sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia declined 1.12%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MOEX Russia were Aeroflot (MCX:AFLT), which rose 3.49% or 3.84 points to trade at 113.74 at the close. Surgut-pref (MCX:SNGS_p) added 1.71% or 0.640 points to end at 38.120 and X5 Retail Group NV (MCX:FIVEDR) was up 1.48% or 23.5 points to 1606.5 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Safmar Finansovye Investitsii PAO (MCX:SFIN), which lost 7.42% or 48.2 points to trade at 601.4 in late trade. Tatneft-3 (MCX:TATN) declined 3.75% or 28.30 points to end at 726.70 and Tatneft OAO Pref (MCX:TATN_p) shed 3.27% or 17.00 points to 503.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 139 to 82 and 11 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was up 3.81% to 27.530.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.32% or 3.90 to $1224.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 6.28% or 3.43 to hit $51.20 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 5.97% or 3.74 to trade at $58.86 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 1.05% to 66.3110, while EUR/RUB rose 0.44% to 75.1800.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.24% at 96.817.
