Investing.com – Russia equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Mining, Power and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia declined 1.09%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MOEX Russia were Tatneft-3 (MCX:TATN), which rose 0.63% or 3.80 points to trade at 611.60 at the close. Tatneft OAO Pref (MCX:TATN_p) added 0.26% or 1.60 points to end at 607.40 and Polyus PAO (MCX:PLZL) was up 0.03% or 3.50 points to 12,952.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included AFK Sistema (MCX:AFKS), which lost 7.01% or 1.29 points to trade at 17.12 in late trade. ALROSA ao (MCX:ALRS) declined 4.89% or 2.68 points to end at 52.13 and GMK Norilskiy Nikel PAO (MCX:GMKN) shed 4.68% or 5.50 points to 112.90.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 182 to 64 and 4 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was up 1.05% to 34.71.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.19% or 4.80 to $2,560.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.14% or 1.66 to hit $75.76 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.08% or 0.06 to trade at $78.97 a barrel.
USD/RUB was unchanged 0.00% to 91.50, while EUR/RUB unchanged 0.00% to 102.33.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.28% at 100.46.
