Investing.com – Russia equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Telecoms, Mining and Power sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia fell 0.90%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MOEX Russia were MVideo (MCX:MVID), which rose 5.25% or 20.90 points to trade at 418.70 at the close. NK RussNeft PAO (MCX:RNFT) added 3.07% or 18.0 points to end at 603.5 and Surgut-pref (MCX:SNGS_p) was up 2.20% or 0.655 points to 30.470 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Magnit (MCX:MGNT), which lost 3.58% or 187.0 points to trade at 5032.0 in late trade. NLMK ao (MCX:NLMK) declined 2.83% or 4.26 points to end at 146.14 and PhosAgro ao (MCX:PHOR) shed 2.64% or 65.0 points to 2400.0.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 133 to 73 and 27 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was down 3.24% to 18.220.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was down 1.04% or 14.00 to $1333.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 1.55% or 1.02 to hit $64.78 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 2.14% or 1.49 to trade at $68.16 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.86% to 56.3973, while EUR/RUB rose 0.34% to 70.2248.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.66% at 89.06.
