Investing.com – Russia equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Oil & Gas and Power sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia declined 0.43%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MOEX Russia were NMTP (MCX:NMTP), which rose 5.65% or 0.3650 points to trade at 6.8200 at the close. Yandex NV (MCX:YNDX) added 2.28% or 49.50 points to end at 2220.00 and AK Transneft OAO Pref (MCX:TRNF_p) was up 2.18% or 3600 points to 169100 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Magnit (MCX:MGNT), which lost 5.01% or 189.0 points to trade at 3582.0 in late trade. NOVATEK (MCX:NVTK) declined 2.97% or 35.00 points to end at 1145.00 and PhosAgro ao (MCX:PHOR) shed 2.29% or 60.0 points to 2555.0.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 106 to 95 and 23 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was down 2.47% to 28.850.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.25% or 3.00 to $1191.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.62% or 0.46 to hit $74.75 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.92% or 0.77 to trade at $84.68 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.23% to 66.4144, while EUR/RUB fell 0.32% to 76.2550.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 95.43.
