Investing.com – Russia equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Power, Mining and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia fell 0.42%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MOEX Russia were PIK (MCX:PIKK), which rose 3.03% or 9.20 points to trade at 313.00 at the close. Safmar Finansovye Investitsii PAO (MCX:SFIN) added 2.60% or 19.5 points to end at 769.0 and Lenta Ltd (MCX:LNTADR) was up 2.12% or 8 points to 386 in late trade.
Biggest losers included FSK EES (MCX:FEES), which lost 3.60% or 0.0066 points to trade at 0.1781 in late trade. Severstal - ao (MCX:CHMF) declined 3.35% or 32.40 points to end at 935.40 and MosEnrg (MCX:MSNG) shed 2.58% or 0.0720 points to 2.7180.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 132 to 94 and 12 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was up 2.19% to 19.130.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.38% or 5.00 to $1336.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 1.37% or 0.87 to hit $64.44 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 1.20% or 0.83 to trade at $69.86 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.11% to 56.4425, while EUR/RUB rose 0.04% to 69.2975.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.12% at 90.04.
