Investing.com – Russia equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Telecoms, Oil & Gas and Power sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia lost 0.42% to hit a new 52-week low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MOEX Russia were FSK EES (MCX:FEES), which unchanged 0.74% or 0.00 points to trade at 0.10 at the close. GMK Norilskiy Nikel PAO (MCX:GMKN) added 0.70% or 0.90 points to end at 125.90 and Ros Agro PLC (MCX:AGRODR) was up 0.68% or 8.40 points to 1,241.60 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ozon Holdings PLC (MCX:OZONDR), which lost 2.12% or 74.50 points to trade at 3,445.00 in late trade. Magnit (MCX:MGNT) declined 1.99% or 109.00 points to end at 5,371.00 and NOVATEK (MCX:NVTK) shed 1.98% or 20.40 points to 1,008.60.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 166 to 77 and 8 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was down 0.67% to 28.01.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 2.16% or 53.80 to $2,546.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 2.00% or 1.56 to hit $76.60 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 1.62% or 1.31 to trade at $79.73 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.57% to 89.45, while EUR/RUB rose 1.09% to 98.64.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.55% at 102.25.
