Investing.com – Russia equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Power, Oil & Gas and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia lost 0.21%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MOEX Russia were NLMK ao (MCX:NLMK), which rose 2.74% or 4.30 points to trade at 161.00 at the close. ALROSA ao (MCX:ALRS) added 2.50% or 2.390 points to end at 98.110 and Magnit (MCX:MGNT) was up 1.56% or 54.0 points to 3515.0 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Safmar Finansovye Investitsii PAO (MCX:SFIN), which lost 3.90% or 26.4 points to trade at 650.2 in late trade. Rosseti ao (MCX:RSTI) declined 2.25% or 0.0161 points to end at 0.7000 and FSK EES (MCX:FEES) shed 2.23% or 0.0034 points to 0.1510.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 138 to 60 and 18 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was down 0.14% to 29.060.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.34% or 4.20 to $1232.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.67% or 0.45 to hit $67.27 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.49% or 0.37 to trade at $76.54 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.21% to 65.5359, while EUR/RUB fell 0.40% to 74.5202.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.24% at 96.41.
