Investing.com – Russia equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Power, Manufacturing and Mining sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia fell 0.02%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MOEX Russia were Safmar Finansovye Investitsii PAO (MCX:SFIN), which rose 3.03% or 21.0 points to trade at 714.0 at the close. Severstal - ao (MCX:CHMF) added 1.72% or 17.20 points to end at 1014.70 and MMK (MCX:MAGN) was up 1.69% or 0.770 points to 46.300 in late trade.
Biggest losers included NK RussNeft PAO (MCX:RNFT), which lost 5.39% or 33.0 points to trade at 579.5 in late trade. Polymetal International PLC (MCX:POLY) declined 3.17% or 18.10 points to end at 552.00 and X5 Retail Group NV (MCX:FIVEDR) shed 1.76% or 31.0 points to 1727.5.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 116 to 90 and 16 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was up 1.09% to 24.140.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.02% or 0.20 to $1225.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.60% or 0.42 to hit $69.19 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.01% or 0.01 to trade at $74.53 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.28% to 62.7741, while EUR/RUB fell 0.19% to 73.1500.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.10% at 94.48.
