Investing.com – Russia equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Power, Mining and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX declined 0.66%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MICEX were AK Transneft OAO Pref (MCX:TRNF_p), which rose 4.17% or 7500 points to trade at 187350 at the close. Unipro (MCX:UPRO) added 1.31% or 0.0330 points to end at 2.5550 and NK Rosneft PAO (MCX:ROSN) was up 0.97% or 3.15 points to 328.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Rosseti ao (MCX:RSTI), which lost 4.65% or 0.0499 points to trade at 1.0240 in late trade. ALROSA ao (MCX:ALRS) declined 2.00% or 1.620 points to end at 79.370 and Gazprom PAO (MCX:GAZP) shed 1.59% or 2.02 points to 125.15.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 143 to 76 and 23 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was down 1.66% to 15.990.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.15% or 14.95 to $1288.05 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.83% or 0.43 to hit $51.44 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.73% or 0.42 to trade at $57.40 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.25% to 57.4675, while EUR/RUB fell 0.07% to 67.5517.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.35% at 93.47.
