Investing.com – Russia equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Manufacturing, Mining and Power sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX fell 0.54%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MICEX were DIXY Group ao (MCX:DIXY), which rose 3.94% or 12.50 points to trade at 330.00 at the close. PIK (MCX:PIKK) added 2.35% or 7.20 points to end at 313.00 and Magnit (MCX:MGNT) was up 1.62% or 109.0 points to 6829.0 in late trade.
Biggest losers included NK RussNeft PAO (MCX:RNFT), which lost 2.95% or 15.5 points to trade at 510.6 in late trade. Yevroplan PAO (MCX:EPLN) declined 2.73% or 19.0 points to end at 676.5 and AFK Sistema (MCX:AFKS) shed 2.31% or 0.270 points to 11.395.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 108 to 101 and 27 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was up 2.29% to 19.670.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.06% or 0.78 to $1291.42 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.43% or 0.25 to hit $58.27 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.24% or 0.15 to trade at $63.17 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.21% to 58.3790, while EUR/RUB rose 0.16% to 69.2000.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.11% at 93.05.
