Investing.com – Russia equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Manufacturing, Mining and Power sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the RTSI fell 6.43%, while the MICEX index fell 3.65%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the RTSI were MegaFon OAO (MCX:MFON), which rose 0.92% or 9.00 points to trade at 987.00 at the close. PhosAgro ao (MCX:PHOR) added 0.76% or 16.0 points to end at 2117.0 and Mostotrest (MCX:MSTT) was up 0.39% or 0.30 points to 77.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included SG mechel (MCX:MTLR), which lost 9.61% or 7.45 points to trade at 70.04 in late trade. BSP (MCX:BSPB) declined 9.47% or 3.300 points to end at 31.550 and RDR United Company RUSAL PLC (MCX:RUALR) shed 9.05% or 39.50 points to 396.80.
The top performers on the MICEX were MegaFon OAO (MCX:MFON) which rose 0.92% to 987.00, PhosAgro ao (MCX:PHOR) which was up 0.76% to settle at 2117.0 and Mostotrest (MCX:MSTT) which gained 0.39% to close at 77.90.
The worst performers were SG mechel (MCX:MTLR) which was down 9.61% to 70.04 in late trade, BSP (MCX:BSPB) which lost 9.47% to settle at 31.550 and RDR United Company RUSAL PLC (MCX:RUALR) which was down 9.05% to 396.80 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 122 to 29 and 3 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for April delivery was down 0.69% or 8.00 to $1158.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude Oil for delivery in April fell 2.66% or 1.33 to hit $48.67 a barrel, while the April Brent Oil contract fell 3.08% or 1.80 to trade at $56.73 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 2.63% to 62.388, while EUR/RUB rose 1.35% to 66.862.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.89% at 98.50.
