Investing.com – Russia equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Mining, Manufacturing and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia gained 3.17%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MOEX Russia were Gazprom PAO (MCX:GAZP), which rose 1.13% or 1.29 points to trade at 115.14 at the close. Sberbank Rossii PAO (MCX:SBER) added 1.07% or 3.33 points to end at 314.03 and AFK Sistema (MCX:AFKS) was unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 points to 26.52 in late trade.
Biggest losers included AFK Sistema (MCX:AFKS), which unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 points to trade at 26.52 in late trade. Aeroflot (MCX:AFLT) unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 points to end at 62.82 and FSK EES (MCX:FEES) 0.00% or 0.00 points to 0.11.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 2 to 0 on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was unchanged 0.00% to 25.73 a new 3-month high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.14% or 26.70 to $2,373.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.66% or 0.53 to hit $81.24 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.11% or 0.09 to trade at $85.72 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.02% to 87.24, while EUR/RUB unchanged 0.00% to 93.38.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.42% at 105.32.
