Investing.com – Russia equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Power, Telecoms and Mining sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia rose 0.07% to hit a new all time high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MOEX Russia were United Company Rusal Plc (MCX:RUAL), which rose 4.83% or 1.390 points to trade at 30.190 at the close. GidroOGK-011D (MCX:HYDR) added 3.35% or 0.0172 points to end at 0.5304 and Severstal - ao (MCX:CHMF) was up 1.40% or 14.20 points to 1029.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Aeroflot (MCX:AFLT), which lost 2.64% or 2.78 points to trade at 102.44 in late trade. ALROSA ao (MCX:ALRS) declined 1.73% or 1.720 points to end at 97.780 and X5 Retail Group NV (MCX:FIVEDR) shed 1.57% or 27.5 points to 1721.0.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 128 to 91 and 15 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was down 1.25% to 22.110.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.28% or 3.65 to $1318.45 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 1.88% or 1.04 to hit $54.22 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 0.76% or 0.48 to trade at $62.27 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.22% to 65.6477, while EUR/RUB fell 0.09% to 75.0100.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.31% at 95.597.
